How long have you been a member of LASD? 5 years

What does being a member of the LASD Elite Running Team mean to you? It is a great feeling to represent the department and run with 19 other guys who share the common goal of winning the B2V Championship.

Why do you want to win? To hoist the B2V trophy and get the belt buckle.

How did you get involved with the Team? I was recruited by Lt. Bottemley after the LASD MCJ Mug Run Race in 2019.

What kind of training program do you follow? My training program is geared towards 10k to half marathon distances.

Tell us about your running career.

I ran cross country & track all 4 years in high school (2000-2004). Freshmen year ran about 22+mins for 3 miles. End of senior year my best was 16:15.

My High School PRs are:

  • 1mi: 4:4x
  • 2mi: 10:0x
  • 3mi: 16:15

I continued running while in college (2005-2009).

My College PRs are:

  • 5000m: 15:40
  • 10,000m: 32:49

From 2009 to 2016, I stopped running/racing all together due to injuries, lack of motivation, and inconsistent training. A short time after I joined LASD in 2015, I wanted to get back into shape to participate in B2V and have since participated in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

My B2V PRs are:

  • 5k: 16:53
  • 10k: 35:15
  • Half Marathon: 1:13:37
